The Future Will Come is the second album by American electronic artist The Juan MacLean. It was released by DFA Records on April 21, 2009. The album is heavily influenced by British synthpop band The Human League, and it incorporates many themes from science fiction.

The Juan MacLean's "Happy House" might have been comparatively overlooked in the wake of their labelmates' widespread critical success, but it's hard not to hear it as the weight on the other side of the scale. It jumps a decade or so past H&LA's Larry Levan-minded disco into a style alluded to in the song's double-meaning title, Nancy Whang's voice dripping with a cool, almost aloof exuberance that seemed content to ride along with that pulse-raising piano. Still, what could another four minutes here and there really do about the dour mood? That's the other gag The Future Will Come springs on the unsuspecting listener hoping for an hour's worth of "Happy House" giddiness, with Whang and MacLean sniping at each other in character like the Oakey/Sulley dynamic in "Don't You Want Me" pushed to a barely repressed loathing.

The future will come I have had a vision Your popularity is a deep revision Working your mouth on overtime Your cocaine dreams are doing fine. Your life in the city is a paid vacation Your suicide note was a part of your thesis Your mother said there's an explanation Your monthly check was your inspiration. The future will come I have had a vision The future will come for everyone The newspapers said that it's all been done The future will come for everyone A livable life is a pretense

Human Disaster, 03:44.

The Juan MacLean, the solo project of former Six Finger Satellite guitarist John MacLean, is one of the more overlooked entries in DFA Records' post-millennial retro-futurist hit parade. While the group’s angular, eled electro-house is every bit as pulse-raising and ebullient as that of label mates LCD Soundsystem and Hercules and Love Affair, their oft-channeled aloofness and chilly post-human aesthetics could at times put off all but the most hardened Kraftwerk fans

If John MacLean's first album under the Juan MacLean alias signalled to Kraftwerk-ian robotics under the apt title of Less Than Human, it appears that in the last four years the former Six Finger Satellite guitarist has now chosen to explore matters of the flesh. The Future Will Come could be better titled More Than Human (League), as MacLean and collaborator Nancy Whang (also of LCD Soundsystem) were apparently smitten with the Sheffield legends while writing the new album - and it shows. Moving on from Less Than Human's mechanized electro house, the Juan McLean now stress the more.
