The Weather Station is a Canadian folk music band fronted by Tamara Lindeman, formed in 2006. The band membership has changed over the years, but now includes Lindeman, with Ben Whiteley on bass, Will Kidman on electric guitar and keys, and Ian Kehoe on drums. The debut album The Line was released in 2009. The second album, All of It Was Mine, made in collaboration with Daniel Romano, was released in 2011.
The Weather Station is Lindeman's loosest, most confident album yet, but it may also prove to be her most deeply psychological; she doesn't hold back.

Produced by The Weather Station. Album The Weather Station. There was a time When you put your hand on the small of my back I was surprised that you touched me like that But there in your hand was a current of life I could hardly stand I stayed still And I didn't mention it Or if I did, I made some joke of it It was strange how. I could feel so sane So plain when you're around. My parents had just gotten divorced, my friends were having kids, and I was touring Europe in a station wagon. And I was incredibly happy. Losing my mind over Swedish rest stops and laughing in parking lots with my friends. I wrote the song about that precise moment – joy balanced on the cusp of despair. Written By The Weather Station. Release Date July 21, 2017. The Weather Station The Weather Station.
The emotional stakes on The Weather Station are particularly high; Lindeman refers at various points to a broken economy, to mass shootings and climate change. But the most vivid devastation she describes is internal. The album ends with the dreamlike fragment, The Most Dangerous Thing About You. Its closing lines are striking and mysterious: And all of the sadness you can’t explain poured from you like a summer rain, hand in hand with your child in the morning, she sings, before a sudden sweep of strings enters and disappears just as quickly.
