In her early years, she studied drama & ballet. After high school she toured Canada with a dance group. After taking a job as a chorus girl, she decided to pursue a singing career. MGM executives saw her in a TV commercial and she was signed by MGM in 1952. She was the first American singer to record at Abbey Road Studios in England. Her fan base even included Asia and the Philippines. She had 7 top hits, including "Why Don't You Believe in Me?", "Your Cheating Heart," &q. ead.

Hank Williams Sings is the debut album of country music singer-songwriter Hank Williams. MGM Records released the album on November 9, 1951. By 1951, Hank Williams' popularity had soared. Following the chart topping records "Cold, Cold Heart" and "Hey Good Lookin'", he joined the Hadacol caravan, a train-transported road show that toured the South in a forty-nine dates one night show schedule. After the tour disbanded before the shows were completed, Williams returned to Nashville, Tennessee

The name Hank Fort conjures images of some lanky cowboy singer in full regalia, most likely standing in black and white, with a western swing orchestra behind him and a post war Cadillac or an old bullet-back bus. We find however that Ms. Fort was no such thing, as evidenced by the cover of this 1958 Epic LP. Alma Louise Middleton Hankins Fort (b. June 19, 1914) was a Nashvillian who reflected not the hillbilly image of that fair city, but rather the cultured and somewhat antebellum aspects of "the Athens of the South".

Sings Hank Williams is the seventh album by American country and rock and roll singer Johnny Cash, released under Sun Records on September 15, 1960. Only the first four of the twelve tracks on the album were written by Williams, with most of the others being written by Cash.

Songs for Hank combines two out of print albums that focus exclusively on the music of Hank Williams, George Jones Salutes Hank Williams from 1960 and Jack Scott's 1960 recording I Remember Hank Williams. While the combined artists are similar enough that the transition between the two isn't jarring, the George Jones set is closer to traditional country, while '50s rockabilly singer Jack Scott adds strings and a more contemporary sound.

Whether you’re an ardent fan or just looking for a good place to become acquainted with the outlaw twang-rock of Hank Williams J. this 2012 compilation is a must-have. It appropriately opens with Family Tradition, where Jr. stakes his claim in country while divorcing himself from his father's strict honky tonk traditions. Of course this could only be followed up with Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound, a slower tune that muses on hard drinking and fast living over twangy pedal steel notes, a rootsy fiddle solo, and some sharp Telecaster picking.
