Goldfrapp - Head First mp3 album

Goldfrapp are an English electronic music duo from London, formed in 1999. Goldfrapp's second album Black Cherry, which incorporated glam rock and synthpop sounds into their music, was released in 2003.

For the last decade they’ve been making extremely listenable music, from the austere chill of 2000’s debut Felt Mountain, via the Black Forest electro-Weimar wolf porn of 2003’s Black Cherry, to the retro-futuristic electro disco glitter of Supernature in 2005 – but it’s always seemed as though Alison and Will have been the ones to hold open a.

If the aim was to make a more commercially viable album than Seventh Tree, they’ve succeeded almost to the point of looking sarcastic

Head First" is the only weak album in Goldfrapp's catalogue, drifting from 80's club anthems to Italo disco genre - yet this pressing is marvelous from head to toe. It includes a free poster & CD of the full album, the 180G pressing is dead quiet and dynamic. Reply Notify me Helpful. Rather than another change in direction after the glam of Supernature and the etherealness that was the last album, Seventh Tree, Goldfrapp have evolved Seventh Tree into a more poppy and perhaps mainstream friendly version. Hunt-slower and a little darker than the rest. This and the next song are the most "Goldfrapp" sounding-like their previous work. Shiny and Warm-this one sounds a little more like 70s or early 80s roller disco while sounding more modern than Believer. It stands out among the rest in first listens of the album.

Head First dives into luscious, eminently danceable synth pop that's almost as far removed from the sleek shuffle beats of Black Cherry and Supernature as their previous album was. This time, Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory look to the ‘80s for inspiration, but not the brittle sound that was fashionable to ape in the late 2000s, like La Roux and Little Boots. Instead, they explore the uber-glossy productions, staccato melodies, and dramatic key shifts that were the hallmarks of anthems that some might not want to admit they liked decades later.

The best moments on Goldfrapp’s album Head First - Believer and the title track - also double as its uncoolest ones. March 12 2010, 11:30am, The Times. This time last year every emerging female singer seemed to have assimilated elements of the Goldfrapp sound into her sonic armoury - from the glam-dram otherworldliness of Lady Gaga to Ladyhawke’s empowered electropop. If Alison Goldfrapp and her co-conspirator Will Gregory felt a beatific sense of oneness with the world as they went into this fifth album, the feeling seems to have been compounded by the singer’s blooming relationship with the.

Head First (Goldfrapp album). 2010 studio album by Goldfrapp. Overall, Goldfrapp expressed "not very proud" and "not crazy about" the album, describing it as too "on the nose". While singling out affection for "Voicething" and "Shiny and Warm" and admitting that there were "some good tunes on there", she felt as though they "should have given them to someone else instead of us releasing them as Goldfrapp.
