The Purge is an American action horror-thriller franchise, consisting of four films, one upcoming film, and a television series. The films are based on a future dystopian America, revolving around an annual 12-hour period when all forms of crime are legal. The concept was created by James DeMonaco, who also directed the first three films, wrote all four, and also wrote the first episode of the first season of the television series.
March into the Sea is the second EP by Chicago-based instrumental metal band Pelican, released in 2005 by Hydra Head Records. The title track is the original version of the shortened song "March to the Sea" from their 2005 album The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw, which was released just a month-and-a-half later. The second track is a Justin Broadrick remix of "Angel Tears", a song from their 2003 debut full-length Australasia. March into the Sea" – 20:28.
March Into The Sea is a music singles/eps/fan club/promo recording by PELICAN (Experimental/Post Metal/Progressive Rock) released in 2005 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. This EP,released in 2005,just prior to the release of their album The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw, contains only two songs, the epic 20+ minute title track(which would appear in a slightly different form on their 2nd full length studio album),and a remix of Australasia's Angel Tears. March Into The Sea begins with a dirty. sludgy guitar riff, something that really captured my interest straight away I have to admit, because I was so eager to see where it would go from there.
March into the Sea. Type. Album (Studio full-length). Drone Metal, Doom Metal, Crust. Conqueror of Thorns Records.
There was a time when an "all instrumental rock" album' meant a long-haired, spandex-toting chap shredding away on an expensive signature-series guitar. But as evidenced by the emergence of such acts as Pelican, the all-instrumental genre is wide open once more
The message of March to the Sea highlights mankind’s affinity to blindly follow one another with the simple comforts of conformity taking center-stage. Humanity is portrayed as weary travelers, tired of trying to find anything new or unique for fear that it will make them see the truth, leading to despair and opening themselves to vulnerability. Both the title of this song and theme are partially inspired by Sherman’s March To The Sea, a famed event occurring during the US Civil War that resulted in William Sherman taking control of Savannah, Georgia
