South Side" is a song written and recorded by American electronica musician Moby. It was released on November 7, 2000 as the seventh single from his fifth studio album Play. Initially recorded with No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani, production problems forced Moby to leave Stefani's vocals off the mix of the song included on Play; Stefani's vocals were then restored for the song's single release.

The South Side Compton Crips (SSCC), also known as the South Side Crips (SSC) or the Double S Gang are an internationally known African-American street gang based on the East Side in the Southeast (also known as the South Side) area in Compton, California. Despite their geoghaphical location being on the Compton’s East Side, they claim South Side, due to their turf being in the Southern area of Compton. Members are known to wear apparel by the Seattle Mariners with the S (for South) to signify their affiliation with the South Side Crips. They are composed of smaller cliques such as the Burris Street Crew, Glencoe Ave, and the A-Line (Alondra Blvd). Their neighborhood runs from Compton Blvd to Greenleaf Blvd, between Long Beach Blvd and Santa Fe Ave. Their territory is north of the 91 (Gardena) Freeway

The album peaked at number 2 on Billboard Top Contemporary Jazz Albums chart. The album has been sold more than 500,000 copies and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
