Nelly - Country Grammar mp3 album
Country Grammar is the debut studio album by American rapper Nelly. It was released on June 27, 2000, by Universal Records (who released the album after listening to demos by Nelly, before signing a record deal with the rapper in 1999). The production on the album was handled by Jason "Jay E" Epperson, with additional production by C-Love, Kevin Law, City Spud, Steve "Blast" Wills and Basement Beats. Nelly contributed to all lyrics on the album, with Epperson and City Spud also contributing.
It almost never happened. Born in the fall of 1974 in Austin as the son of an Air Force man and a mother who worked mostly in fast-food restaurants, Nelly bounced from city to city. By the time Nelly’s second album came out, in 2002, he was wearing a band-aid on his cheek as a tribute to City; the St. Lunatics album, which Universal did release after all, was named Free City. City was finally freed in 2008. There was certainly plenty of money to go around-Country Grammar would eventually be certified Diamond-but any realistic hope of breaking City as a mainstream star had passed.

By the time of Country Grammar's release in summer 2000, the album's title track had become a major hit single for the previously unknown St. Louis rapper Nelly, who was making his national debut. In particular, the song's tongue-twisting chorus is downright infectious: "I'm goin down down baby, yo' street in a Range Rover/Street sweeper, baby, cocked ready to let it go/Shimmy shimmy cocoa what? Listen to it pound/Light it up and take a puff, pass it to me now" - or something like that.

Nelly continues to move Country Grammar's stock on up with the posse track, "Batter Up," which hijacks the lyrics to the theme song of the classic TV show, The Jeffersons, and implements them into the hook for a celebratory ditty inspired by their newfound success. Released as the fourth single from the album, it failed to reach the higher rungs of the Billboard music charts, but was popular on various music video countdowns due to its baseball-themed visual.
