The Wonder Years - No Closer To Heaven mp3 album
No less caffeinated than they’ve ever been, these Philadelphia punk-pop heroes get existential on their fifth album. Ruminations on death are everywhere here-whether they're internalising pop-cultural lore on A Song for Patsy Cline and A Song for Ernest Hemingway, or imagining a different life narrative for a friend who died on Thanks for the Ride. But no matter the subject, singer Dan Soupy Campbell still strains his vocals with every heartfelt word he screams-and each song burns with huge choruses, thundering drums and guitars cranked to 11. No Closer To Heaven The Wonder Years.
No Closer to Heaven is The Wonder Years' fifth studio album. Singer Dan ‘Soupy’ Campbell described the album as a turning point in his songwriting. He had also been battling a severe case of writer’s block, which turned into a full-blown depression. He grew over their usual subject matter of the American suburban experience and decided to tackle larger topics such as life, death, the universe and finding our place in an imperfect world. At that moment, you’re left with two decisions: You can say, if I’m never going to meet this utopian standard, then I might as well quit now and just set. It moves out every way, also calling it their best album yet. It was produced by Steve Evetts and released by Hopeless Records on September 4, 2015. No Closer to Heaven Q&A. Featuring Jason Aalon Butler. Producers Steve Evetts. Writers Dan Campbell.
I suppose about the band, The Wonder Years are a sextet from Pennsylvania and No Closer To Heaven is the follow up to 2013's critically acclaimed The Greatest Generation. But you probably already knew all that. The thing is that No Closer To Heaven is so densely packed with emotion, so dripping with sadness, regret, longing, and beauty that I'm physically and emotionally drained. It's like going through a near death experience and then trying to describe what happened right after it's over. Your mind is racing, jumbled, doesn't know up from down. It actually isn't that much of a stretch to call No Closer to Heaven a concept album, it goes beyond just having similar themes in all the songs and tells a story. A story of depression and it's roots, of working through those and getting to a place of content. It's no The Most Lamentable Tragedy of Titus Andronicus in scope or story, but I guess not much is.

There's enough here to satiate fans-"I Don't Like Who I Was Then" is as good as their best work-but there's an underlying sense that for the first time, the Wonder Years have missed the mark.
On June 29, the band announced No Closer to Heaven was set for release on September 4. On June 30, the band released the music video off the new record, entitled "Cardinals".
If the band’s fifth album is any indication, they seem unlikely to give up the throne anytime soon. Simply put: There’s not another band in this scene who could replicate what the Wonder Years have done here. No Closer To Heaven doesn’t mark a huge sonic shift for the Philly sextet, but their es brand of pop punk is augmented by adventurous new.
